Privacy Policy, Terms, Legal and Disclaimer

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what this website collects, why it is collected, and what happens to it. Read the Disclaimer at the foot of this page first, because it sets out who actually carries out the repair work and who holds your service records.

What is collected. When you submit a form or request a quote through this site, the details you provide are collected: your name, phone number, email address, the location of the vehicle and a description of the fault. The site also records ordinary technical information such as browser type, device type and pages viewed, which is used to keep the site working properly.

What it is used for. Those details are used for one purpose: to pass your service request to a mobile mechanic who can attend your vehicle. From that point the mechanic deals with you directly about the appointment, the diagnosis, the work and the cost.

Who receives it. Your enquiry is passed to the mechanic or service provider who will attend your vehicle. It is also handled by the software providers that host this website, its forms and its phone routing. Your personal information is not sold or rented to anyone.

Service and repair records. Records of the work carried out on your vehicle are created and held by the mechanic who performed it, not by this website. Requests about that work, its warranty, or the information held about it should be made to the mechanic who attended your vehicle.

Your enquiry details. To ask what enquiry details this website holds, to correct them, to have them removed, or to stop receiving messages, make that request to the mechanic or service provider handling your job, who will pass it on.

Security. Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect information against loss, unauthorized access and misuse. No system is perfect, so please take care with what you send through any web form.

Cookies. This site uses cookies and similar technology to function and to understand which pages are useful. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working as intended.

Children. This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes. This policy is updated when practices or legal obligations change. The version published here is the current one.

Terms of Service

Scope. These terms apply to the website at mobilemechanicnorfolkva.com and to service requests submitted through it.

This site arranges work, it does not perform it. Submitting a request through this site is a request for a mobile mechanic to attend. The mechanic who attends is responsible for the diagnosis, the work, the parts and the warranty on that work. See the Disclaimer below.

Quotes and estimates. Any figure given before the vehicle is inspected is an estimate based on the description provided. The attending mechanic inspects the vehicle, explains what was found and confirms the cost before starting. If the job differs from the description, the mechanic will say so before proceeding.

Access and working conditions. Mobile work needs a safe, level and legal place to work, and the property owner’s permission where that applies. A mechanic may decline to work in a location that is unsafe or where a repair cannot be completed correctly.

Work that needs a workshop. Some repairs require a lift or specialist equipment and cannot be completed at the roadside. Where that is the case the attending mechanic will say so rather than start work that cannot be finished safely.

Parts. Parts supplied by the attending mechanic carry the manufacturer’s or supplier’s warranty, administered by that mechanic. A part supplied by the vehicle owner may be fitted, but no warranty is offered on the part itself.

Payment and cancellation. Payment terms and cancellation are agreed directly with the attending mechanic.

Liability. Work is carried out with reasonable skill and care by the attending mechanic. Neither this website nor its operator is liable for pre-existing faults, for consequential losses such as lost earnings or hire costs, or for issues arising from a part supplied by the vehicle owner or from work carried out elsewhere.

Website content. The information on this site is general guidance about common vehicle faults. It is not a diagnosis of any particular vehicle. Have a fault inspected before relying on any description here.

Legal

Copyright. The text, images and layout of this website are protected and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

Trademarks. Vehicle manufacturer and model names appear on this site for identification only. The service is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorized by any vehicle manufacturer.

External links. Where this site links to another website, it is not responsible for that site’s content or privacy practices.

Service area. Service requests are taken for Norfolk VA and the surrounding Hampton Roads area. Availability depends on location, access and the nature of the work.

No professional advice. Nothing on this site is legal, financial or safety advice, and nothing here creates a contract with the operator of this website.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Disclaimer

This website is a lead provider. It does not perform any repair work. It generates service requests and connects vehicle owners with independent mobile mechanics. The operator of this website does not diagnose, service or repair vehicles.

We are NOT responsible for the work. The operator of this website accepts no responsibility and no liability whatsoever for any of the following: the repair work itself, the diagnosis, the quality or standard of workmanship, the parts fitted, the pricing charged, any quotation or estimate given, any warranty or guarantee of any kind, timekeeping or appointment attendance, damage to a vehicle or to property, or any loss arising from work carried out or not carried out.

The mechanic is fully responsible. The independent mechanic you called, and who carried out the work on your vehicle, is solely and fully responsible for all of it: the diagnosis, the work performed, the quality of that work, the parts used, the price charged, any warranty offered, and the service records. That mechanic is an independent business and is not an employee, agent, partner or representative of this website or its operator.

All questions go to that mechanic. Any question, complaint, warranty claim, refund request, pricing dispute or request for records must be raised directly with the mechanic who attended your vehicle. This website cannot resolve, arbitrate or intervene in it.

No endorsement, no verification of outcome. Connecting you with a mechanic is not an endorsement, recommendation or guarantee of that mechanic, their work, their pricing or their conduct. You are responsible for satisfying yourself about who you hire and for agreeing the price and the scope of work with them before any work begins.

Information on this site is general in nature. It is not a diagnosis of, or a quotation for, any specific vehicle, and nothing on this site creates a contract with the operator of this website.
