When We May Not Be the Right Fit

We are a mobile service, which means some jobs are genuinely better handled at a full shop. This can include:

  • Work that needs a vehicle lift or an alignment rack
  • Welding or major bodywork
  • Transmission removal or a full internal rebuild
  • Major engine teardown
  • Dealership-only warranty work, which needs to stay with the dealer to protect your warranty
  • Work that requires specialised dealer-only diagnostic or programming equipment

If your vehicle needs one of these, we will tell you honestly and point you toward the kind of shop you actually need.

What Norfolk Drivers Should Know

This page exists to help you make a sensible decision, not to talk you into anything. If your situation does not clearly match what is listed above, call and describe what is going on. Many jobs that sound complicated over the phone turn out to be straightforward once we can see the vehicle.

Not a Fit Norfolk VA -- Questions

Quick answers for Norfolk drivers.

Will you tell me honestly if you can't do the job?

Yes. If a repair needs shop equipment we do not carry, we say so upfront rather than trying to force it.

Do you do major engine or transmission rebuild work?

No. That kind of work needs a lift and shop equipment we do not bring on-site.

What about dealership warranty work?

That should go to the dealer so your warranty stays valid. We will tell you if that applies to your repair.

If you can't help, can you point me somewhere else?

Yes. We will tell you honestly what kind of shop or service you actually need.

Why We Wrote This Not a Fit Page

We want Norfolk drivers to have honest information before they call, whether or not it involves us. See our full Mobile Mechanic Services Norfolk VA list, or go back to Mobile Mechanic Norfolk VA.
